The United States Anti-Doping Agency has notified former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum of a potential doping violation, according to an announcement from the UFC on Tuesday.
The potential violation stems from an out-of-competition drug test submitted back on April 25th.
“We’re working very closely with [UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance] Jeff Novitzky, the UFC and USADA,” said Werdum’s manager, Ali Abedalaziz. “I’m very confident this situation will be resolved.”
Werdum, 40, who has never failed adrug test during his career was reportedly finalizing a deal to fight Aleksei Oleinik in Russia on September 15th.
